JULY 12: Opening Reception – Soundings: An Exhibition in Five Parts

Soundings: An Exhibition in Five Parts will see it’s Albuquerque grand opening with a special reception held at 516 ARTS. Join us on July 12 from 6–8pm, and see the unveiling of work from artists Raven Chacon and Cristóbal Martínez, Sebastian De Line, Camille Georgeson-Usher, Maggie Groat, Kite, Germaine Koh, Aaron Leon, Cheryl L’Hirondelle, Tanya Lukin Linklater, Logan MacDonald, Chandra Melting Tallow, Ogimaa Mikana, Peter Morin, Diamond Point, Taylor Jordan Riner, Heidi Aklaseaq Senungetuk, Greg Staats, Olivia Whetung, and Tania Willard. This event sets up a slew of programing featuring more performers, artists and composers invited to respond and create new works as the exhibition goes on. ⁠

The opening reception will feature music by DJ AliDelih and refreshments from Little Bear.

The Member Preview will be held from 5-6pm. This will include a special invocation of Greg Staats’ piece, “Do’-gah – I don’t know [shrugging soldiers” ‘ by the exhibitions host facilitator by 516 ARTS’ Curator, Olivia Amaya Ortiz.⁠ Not a member? Join here.
