516 ARTS and Herstory Printmaking present a two-day street-style portrait printmaking workshop led by Herstory Printmaking members Shelly Korte and Lena Weiss. Participants are invited to bring an image of an unsung New Mexican woman who has uplifted and inspired lives, fought to protect the vulnerable, taught, danced, cooked, mothered, and transformed boundaries in any space where women need more visibility and commemoration. The two-day workshop includes day one on Thursday, Jan. 9 from 5:30-8:30pm and day two on Sunday, Jan. 12 from 1-4pm. Tickets available soon at a sliding scale price.
As a collective, Herstory Printmaking do not define ‘woman’ and welcome portraits of anyone that defines themselves as a woman. Herstory Printmaking's mission is to include the story of any woman working for change and particularly want to uplift the stories of women whose identities are historically marginalized and women whose identities are intersectional.
