Marcus Zúñiga

I am an artist who comes from New Mexico. I completed my BFA at the University of New Mexico, and MFA at Art Center College of Design. My work has been exhibited in recent curated group shows at the Main Museum, Los Angeles, the Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena, and the Center for Contemporary Arts, Santa Fe. Using time based mediums, my works interact with their surroundings to embody specified spatiotemporal relationships between human and cosmic bodies. The primary theme of the work is locating place within the universe, and by extension contemplating local and cosmic scales of place simultaneously. My work is interdisciplinary, informed by hybrid practice involving research and experimentation with sculptural installations that are built to generate an experience activated by the presence of sunlight.
