Moira Garcia

Moira Garcia (Chicana) is a multidisciplinary artist and printmaker residing in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has a BFA in Studio Arts with a focus in Printmaking from the Institute of American Indian Arts and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Latin American Studies at the University of New Mexico. Her work explores cultural and personal narrative through ancestral iconography, visual language, and expressions of metaphor. Moira is the founding artist of the initiative Art for Change NM where she creates art with political and social justice messages and facilitates community art actions. She has exhibited in museums, galleries, and at public markets nationwide and in Mexico, and has taught workshops in New Mexico, Texas, California, and Hawai’i.
